\"I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, \'Know the Lord,\' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,\" declares the Lord. \"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.\" (Jeremiah 31:31-34)
We are a Reformed Baptist Church composed of repentant believers saved by the sovereign electing grace of God, purchased by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus, regenerated, indwelt and are being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
What Is Our Purpose
We exist to glorify God above all things through our Lord Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit, by loving, fearing and enjoying Him forever and by doing what is good to the edification of the Church and the salvation of the lost.
What We Believe
We adopt as a summary of our beliefs the revised version of the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. This confession of faith gives a faithful and concise statement of the biblical doctrine. But in no way is it regarded as equal to the infallible authority of the Holy Word of God.
A brief summary of what we believe:
1. The Infallibility and Authority of the Holy Scriptures
We believe in the full inspiration and authority of the 66 books of the Bible as the sole, infallible, and all-sufficient standard of our faith and practice; the necessity for a reverent faith in the word, and the illumination of the Holy Spirit, for a true understanding of the whole.
2. The Unity, Equality and Sovereignty of the Godhead
We believe in the unity of the Godhead and divine co-equality of the Persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit eternally; the sovereignty of God in creation, providence, and redemption.
3. The Person and Work of Christ
We believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His real and perfect manhood; the authority of His teaching and the infallibility of all His utterances; His substitutionary death of the cross as being the full, sufficient, and only atonement for sins; His bodily resurrection and His ascension into Heaven; His sole mediatorship between God and men; His present mediatorial reign over all things; His priestly intercession for His people; His personal return in glory.
4. The Sin and Total Depravity of Man
We believe in the total depravity of human nature in consequence of the Fall of man from the original state of perfection in which he was created, by which Fall all mankind is in a state of condemnation and separation from a holy God, and can only be delivered by the divine work of regeneration and redemption.
5. The Justification of Sinners by Faith
We believe in the justification of sinners solely by faith and solely on the basis of the perfect righteousness and atoning death of the Lord Jesus Christ; hence, the right to eternal life is not earned by personal merits but is entirely a free gift of God in Christ Jesus.
6. The Necessity of Holiness
We believe that every believer ought to live in holiness of life, which consist in evangelical obedience to the law of God, is a necessary evidence of true saving faith in Christ and without which, no one will see the Lord. “No holiness no heaven.”
7. The Necessity of the Efficacious Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the necessity of the efficacious work of the Holy Spirit in true conversion, which involves true repentance and faith in Christ; and that those who are truly converted shall certainly and finally be preserved by the grace and persevering work of the Triune God, so that no one of them shall ever perish but shall enter the fullness of eternal life.
8. The Bodily Resurrection and Judgment
We believe in the resurrection of the body; the judgment of the world by Jesus Christ, with the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and the eternal punishment of those who do not know God and do not obey the Gospel of the Lord Jesus.
9. The Membership of the Church
We believe that the church is to be made up solely of true believers in Christ who confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and who submit to His rule and authority set forth in the Scriptures.
10. The Work of the Church
We believe that the church is to fulfill what Christ has commissioned His church to do, according to the ability Christ promised to supply. This includes: the worship of God, the preservation and propagation of God’s Word, the nurture of God’s people, the work of benevolence amongst God’s people, the discipline of the unruly amongst God’s people, the observance of the covenantal signs – baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and the corporate prayer for the work of the God’s kingdom.
11. The New Covenant Church Ordinances
The observance of the divine institution of the believers by immersion, in loving obedience as an act of witness, but not as conveying any regenerating grace. The observance of the Lord’s Supper as a commemoration of our Lord’s death, but not as being a sacrifice for sin nor involving any change in the substance of the bread and wine.
12. The Proclamation of the Gospel to All
We believe that the gospel is to be proclaimed to all and that all are to be exhorted to repent of their rebellion against God and to believe in Christ and Christ alone for salvation.
